April\u00a04 – a day with profound meaning for The Freedom Theatre. It is the fourth anniversary of the unsolved 2011 murder of Juliano Mer Khamis, The Freedom Theatre’s co-founder and general director.\u00a0<\/span>On this day, we remember and honour Juliano\u2019s life, work and legacy, while we repeat\u00a0our demand that those responsible for this crime be brought to justice.\u00a0Read more about Juliano.<\/a><\/p>\n

April 4\u00a0<\/span>is also the anniversary of the\u00a0large-scale invasion of Jenin Refugee Camp in 2002 by the Israeli army, which demolished the central parts of the camp, killed many and traumatised many more.<\/p>\n

On this day, we will premiere The Siege<\/em><\/strong>, a theatre\u00a0production inspired by real-life accounts from the 2002 siege of the Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem, that\u00a0played out parallell to the invasion of Jenin Refugee Camp and made headlines worldwide.<\/span><\/p>\n
