In the first India-Palestine theatre collaboration,\u00a0Jana Natya Manch (Janam) from\u00a0Delhi\u00a0and The Freedom Theatre will create a\u00a0unique theatre production, telling stories of freedom and resistance from both nations. The Freedom Theatre and Janam will give\u00a030 performances across India in December and January, followed by a tour of Palestine\u00a0in April 2016.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #800000;\"><strong>The Freedom Jatha is entirely funded by individual contributions. You can be part of\u00a0it! <\/strong><strong><a style=\"color: #800000;\" href=\"http:\/\/igg.me\/at\/freedom-jatha\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">http:\/\/igg.me\/at\/freedom-jatha<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Freedom Theatre and Janam are bound together by a common tragedy. Janam co-founder Safdar Hashmi was murdered while performing a play in 1989, while The Freedom Theatre co-founder Juliano Mer Khamis was assassinated outside of the theatre in 2011.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8220;Sometimes the most difficult experiences are what bind us together,&#8221; says Jonatan Stanczak, managing director of The Freedom Theatre. &#8220;Janam and TFT have suffered the loss of friends as a consequence of intolerance; we are connected by experiences of resisting oppression in search of freedom.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cThis is truly people-to-people contact, rather artist-to-artist&#8221;, says Sudhanva Deshpande of Janam. &#8220;They sought us out, and we sought them out because we found inspiration in each other\u2019s work.
