The Freedom Theatre’s unique take on artistic expression as a form of resistance to oppression has gathered interest around the world. The theatre is frequently invited to international workshops and conferences to share its experiences and methods.<\/p>\n
During April 4-9, there is an exceptional opportunity to explore the concept of cultural resistance in Palestine, with The Freedom Theatre’s team present and with the addition of prominent Palestinian and international scholars,\u00a0artists and activists.<\/p>\n
The Forum will center around the concept of cultural resistance in a Palestinian context but taking inspiration from other movements around the world. Topics covered include Women,\u00a0theatre and resistance; Culture under occupation; and\u00a0The role of culture\u00a0within the larger Palestinian popular struggle movement.<\/p>\n
The working language of the Forum will be Arabic, with English translation.<\/p>\n
Simultaneously,\u00a0we will present theatre\u00a0performances by The Freedom Theatre and other Palestinian theatre and circus companies, along with film screenings, workshops\u00a0and informal meetings.<\/p>\n
