All 48 participants of the 5th annual Freedom Ride have arrived\u00a0safely and after spending two days getting to know each other, Jenin and its\u00a0cultural life, moved on to the Jordan Valley. In 1948, they were forced out of their own homes and the land by the Israelis.<\/span><\/span><\/em><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"\" style=\"text-align: justify;\" data-block=\"true\" data-editor=\"2qtck\" data-offset-key=\"46hob-0-0\">\n<div class=\"_1mf _1mj\" data-offset-key=\"46hob-0-0\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"_1mf _1mj\" data-offset-key=\"46hob-0-0\"><em><span data-offset-key=\"46hob-0-0\"><span data-text=\"true\">When people first came to this area, UNRWA gave them tents to live in, assuming their expulsion from the land would be temporary\u2014maybe one or two months before they could return to their homes.<\/span><\/span><\/em><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"\" data-block=\"true\" data-editor=\"2qtck\" data-offset-key=\"4tn9-0-0\">\n<div class=\"_1mf _1mj\" style=\"text-align: justify;\" data-offset-key=\"4tn9-0-0\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"_1mf _1mj\" style=\"text-align: justify;\" data-offset-key=\"4tn9-0-0\"><em><span data-offset-key=\"4tn9-0-0\"><span data-text=\"true\">But things took a long time. So people put brick over brick, stone over stone, something to avoid the rain and the sun.
