The board was elected at the general assembly on May 26\u00a0and consists of:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Abed Zubeidi<br \/>\nBilal Al-Saadi, Chairperson<br \/>\nIbrahim Abu Khalifa<br \/>\nIbrahim Radwan Ramada, Secretary of the artistic committee<br \/>\nImad Abu Hantash, Vice chairperson<br \/>\nGhassan Tirawi<br \/>\nMohamed Rizzi<br \/>\n<span class=\"s1\">Omar Kabeya, Treasurer<br \/>\n<\/span><span class=\"s1\">Shireen Ibrahim Jarrar, Secretary<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">At the general assembly, members also discussed the accomplishment of The Freedom Theatre in the previous year and approved the annual and financial reports for 2015 (find both reports\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/thefreedomtheatre.org\/ar\/annual-report-2015\/\">here<\/a>). The annual plan for 2017 was presented and approved. Some of the highlights of 2017 will be:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><em>Street Theatre Experiences <\/em><\/strong>is a second step in The Freedom Theatre\u2019s ambition to bring theatre to the people. It will be an opportunity to further investigate the form and method of street theatre and perform the\u00a0play <strong><em>Return to Palestine<\/em><\/strong> that will be toured around Jenin and Palestine by a small team of actors. Interactive theatre presentations will continue throughout the year, performances that grow through the stories that audiences share.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><em>The Siege<\/em><\/strong> will once again be re-staged and performed in Palestine and in the United States.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em><strong>The Theatre School<\/strong> <\/em>will graduate its current students and a\u00a0new class of students will start their three-year training programme\u00a0in acting, devising and cultural resistance.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><em>Theatre for children &amp; youth <\/em><\/strong>will continue with workshops, performances and a summer camp.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em><strong>The Freedom Theatre Child Centre<\/strong><\/em> will continue with both a playschool\u00a0and a\u00a0comprehensive after-school program with painting, play, storytelling, dabke, photography and more.\u00a0The training programme in early childhood education initiated in 2016 will continue until November 2017.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Collaborations and partnerships will continue to be a core feature of The Freedom Theatre&#8217;s activities. We will cooperate with our partners in\u00a0the Palestinian Performing Arts Network (PPAN) with joint events and advocacy, and in the\u00a0Jenin are we\u00a0will collaborate with local organisations and work towards stronger relationships, increased coordination and sharing of information.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Internationally\u00a0The Freedom Theatre will continue to collaborate with its\u00a0existing and new Friends associations as well as with other partners.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Freedom Theatre&#8217;s staff look forward to a close and fruitful cooperation with our new board of directors!
