{"id":51920,"date":"2016-08-17T13:30:20","date_gmt":"2016-08-17T10:30:20","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/thefreedomtheatre.org\/?p=51920"},"modified":"2016-08-17T13:30:20","modified_gmt":"2016-08-17T10:30:20","slug":"the-freedom-theatre-tours-portugal","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thefreedomtheatre.org\/ar\/2016\/08\/the-freedom-theatre-tours-portugal\/","title":{"rendered":"The Freedom Theatre tours Portugal"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">After the creation of a Friends of The Freedom Theatre association in Portugal, based at the Barraca Theatre at the end of 2015, The Freedom Theatre is embarking on its first tour of\u00a0Portugal with long-standing partners such as the Teatro Bolh\u00e3o Trigo Limpo, ACERT and Barraca Theatre.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In September 2016, the theatre&#8217;s professional company together with the third-year students of The Freedom Theatre School, will present two plays:\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/thefreedomtheatre.org\/ar\/return-to-palestine\/\"><em>Return to Palestine<\/em><\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/thefreedomtheatre.org\/ar\/news\/new-play-images-from-the-life-of-ghassan-kanafani\/\"><em>Images From the Life of Ghassan Kanafani<\/em><\/a>\u00a0as well as offer workshops, lectures and cultural exchange activities between the youth of the partners involved in the project.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>TOUR SCHEDULE<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Lisbon<br \/>\n<\/strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">September 3: Festa do Avante<br \/>\n<\/span>Performance of <em>Return to Palestine<\/em> and post-performance talk.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">September 5-10: Barraca Theatre<br \/>\n<\/span><em>September 6, at 21:30: Performance of Return to Palestine and post-performance talk<\/em><em><br \/>\nSeptember 7, at 21:30: Performance of Images in the life of Ghassan Kanafani and post-performance talk<\/em><br \/>\n<em>September 8, at 10:00-16:00: Theatre Workshop for Artists<\/em><br \/>\nThe professional company of The Freedom Theatre will present the pedagogy of actors based on collective creation and focus on collecting and sharing stories under occupation through various forms of interactive theatre. This is accompanied by\u00a0a reflection on artistic responsibility and the role of the artist in cultural resistance.<br \/>\n<em>September 8, at\u00a021:00: Performance of Images from the life of Ghassan Kanafani and post-performance talk<\/em><br \/>\n<em>September 9, at 10:00-16:00: Theatre Workshop for youth<\/em><br \/>\nThe Freedom Theatre&#8217;s artists and students talk about their work and share stories of\u00a0life in Palestine interactively through theatre exercises.
