April is\u00a0a month with profound meaning for The Freedom Theatre and for Jenin refugee camp.
\nIn April 2002, during the Battle of Jenin, residents of the camp managed to hold against a large-scale invasion by the Israeli occupation forces,\u00a0resulting in great losses and large parts of the camp being\u00a0demolished.
\nOn April 4, 2011,\u00a0The Freedom Theatre\u2019s co-founder\u00a0Juliano Mer Khamis<\/a>\u00a0was brutally assassinated while driving out from the theatre.\u00a0Every year on this day, we honour Juliano\u2019s life, work and legacy\u00a0while we repeat\u00a0the demand that those responsible for this crime be brought to justice.<\/p>\n

CELEBRATION OF CULTURAL RESISTANCE – IN MEMORY OF JULIANO MER KHAMIS<\/strong><\/span>
\nApril 4-6, The Freedom Theatre\u00a0welcomes you to three days of performances, including Return to Palestine<\/a>\u00a0<\/em>and a young artists showcase<\/span>, film screenings, photo exhibitions, launch of a\u00a0new book by The Freedom Theatre and the graduation ceremony of our 2014-16 Theatre School students. The program will start in the afternoon of April 4 and end on the evening\u00a0of April 6. A detailed program can be found here<\/a>.<\/p>\n

On April 7, there will be the opportunity to see more of\u00a0The Freedom Theatre’s work through a field trip to Faquaa village where Return to Palestine<\/a><\/em>\u00a0will be performed (in Arabic).<\/span><\/p>\n
