The Freedom Theatre Joins the \u00c1gora Ciudadana por la Cultura Palestina in Madrid<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Freedom Theatre is honoured to participate in the \u00c1gora Ciudadana por la Cultura Palestina (Citizens’ Forum for Palestinian Culture)<\/strong>, an international gathering bringing together artists, cultural workers, heritage professionals, human rights advocates, researchers, and institutions committed to safeguarding Palestinian culture and strengthening international cultural cooperation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Taking place in Madrid at the Museo Nacional Thyssen-Bornemisza<\/strong> and the C\u00edrculo de Bellas Artes<\/strong>, the forum unfolds at a moment when Palestinian cultural life faces unprecedented threats. Against the backdrop of ongoing war, displacement, and genocide, the gathering affirms culture as a space of memory, identity, dignity, and collective resistance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Representing The Freedom Theatre, Palestinian actor and comedian Faisal Abu Alhayjaa<\/strong> will join the panel “Culture and Human Rights”<\/strong> on Tuesday, 14 July<\/strong>, alongside representatives from Al-Haq<\/strong>, The Palestinian Circus<\/strong>, and internationally recognised voices from the fields of culture and human rights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For nearly two decades, The Freedom Theatre has worked from Jenin to create artistic spaces where theatre becomes a language of freedom, critical dialogue, and community resilience. Our participation in the \u00c1gora reflects a shared commitment to defending cultural rights, amplifying Palestinian artistic voices, and strengthening international solidarity through the performing arts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The programme features panel discussions, conversations, poetry, Palestinian tatreez workshops, dabkeh performances, and artistic events celebrating the richness and resilience of Palestinian culture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Because culture is not only what survives history. It is what gives people the power to shape it.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
