This week the Freedom Bus will make two performances in Palestine ’48 (Israel). In Haifa June 6th, and in the Golan on June 7th.<\/p>\n

Families Interrupted:<\/strong><\/p>\n

On June 6th we welcome you to the event \u201cFamilies Interrupted\u201d in Al-Midan Theatre, Haifa. It will include a photographic exhibition and performance by The Freedom Theatre’s Freedom Bus troupe. The event will bring attention to the Israeli Citizenship Law – one of over 50 apartheid laws that discriminate against Palestinians with Israeli citizenship. This racist legislation prohibits a citizen\u2019s spouse from gaining Israeli citizenship if that spouse is a non-Jewish citizen of the occupied Palestinian territories, Iran, Iraq, Syria, or Lebanon. On the other hand, citizenship is automatically granted to any Jewish person who marries a Jewish citizen of Israel.<\/p>\n

M.A.N – Music Art & Nature:<\/strong><\/p>\n

The festival on June 7th aims to strengthen cultural and artistic exchanges between Palestinians and Syrians in occupied Golan. The event will include interactive workshops, theatre and live music from Arabic bands and artists, including Akhir Zafir (Amman), Toot Ard (Golan), Jowan Safadi and Fish Samak (Haifa), and the artists Ala Azzam and Ruba Shamshoum. The Freedom Bus troupe will perform Our Sign is the Stone and will also use Playback Theatre to enact stories shared by audience members.

Families Interrupted<\/strong><\/p>\n

June 6th in Al-Midan Theatre, Haifa at 7 pm.<\/p>\n

The event includes a theatrical performance by The Freedom Theatre, the screening of a short film by Ayed Fadel and Mike Kardosh, and panel discussion with the following speakers:<\/p>\n

Sawsan Zaher, Adalah: The Citizenship and Entry into Israel Law – Legal Aspects and New Developments<\/p>\n

Shirin Batshon, Kayan: Palestinian Women and the Citizenship and Entry into Israel Law<\/p>\n

“Hisham”: Personal Experiences of Someone Affected by the Law<\/p>\n

Moderated by Salah Mohsen, Adalah<\/p>\n

Following the opening event, the exhibition will be displayed in Rai and Fattoush cafes in Haifa, from June 7 until July 6.<\/p>\n

The project is supported by UNDP, and was carried out in cooperation with Society of St. Yves and Sidreh.<\/p>\n

A festival in the heart of Golan on June 7th, starting at 2 pm.<\/p>\n

\u00a4 To meet the needs of local Arab youth for art and entertainment away from the ‘Israelisation’ projects stemming from the forced assimilation of the Israeli scene.<\/p>\n

\u00a4 To strengthen the cultural and artistic exchanges between Palestinians and Syrians in occupied Golan.<\/p>\n

\u00a4 To raise public awareness of both the issues of the Golan Heights, and also its spectacular scenery.<\/p>\n

\u00a4 To strengthen the sense of belonging to nature and subsequently to the land itself.<\/p>\n

\u00a4 To create an alternative Arab scene which draws from the beauty of Arabic culture.<\/p>\n

\u00a4 To boost international awareness & solidarity with Palestinians and Syrians under occupation.<\/p>\n
