Since the 1970\u2019s, firing zones, closed military areas and illegal Israeli settlements, have led to the displacement of entire communities. Others live under the constant threat of forced expulsion. In addition, Palestinian residents face violent harassment from settlers, home demolitions and restricted access to farming land. Many communities lack paved roads, electricity, telephone lines, running-water, or a sewage system. Infrastructure built to meet these needs is frequently demolished under orders issued by the Israeli Civil Administration. Despite these hardships, the indigenous people of this area remain steadfast in their ongoing resistance to Israel\u2019s at ethnic cleansing policies.
