PLAYBACK THEATRE is an interactive theatre approach used in over 50 countries as a tool for community building, trauma response and cultural activism. In a Playback event, audience members share personal stories, and watch as a team of actors and musicians transform these accounts into improvised theatre pieces. Playback Theatre responds to the fundamental need to share one’s story and have it heard, acknowledged and honored.
