The Freedom Theatre invites you to two new exhibitions, produced by our photography students. The students are young adults from the Jenin area who have spent five months studying light, composition, camera settings, frames and storytelling through photography. During the last month they have prepared for the exhibitions, choosing themes and editing the photos.
“We have focused a lot on the stories inside photos”, says Mohammed Moawia, multimedia coordinator at The Freedom Theatre. “We have discussed how the students can feel the photo before they take it. We have worked on enabling them to open their minds to start thinking about photography as a powerful tool that they can use to tell the stories that they want to tell.”
The students chose the themes ‘Childhood’ and ‘Shadows’. Childhood describes different aspects of being a child that together gives an image of childhood, in the eyes of the photography students. Shadows is more focused on the technique of taking photos, and in the exhibition the students show the technical skills they have learned in the workshops.
