“When I read the emails from the Freedom Theatre, I can truly feel the dire need for this organization. The passion and devotion is clearly evident, and I am always moved. It does make me so sad and mad to see these children growing up under these circumstances, but the resistance and resilience is heartwarming.”

Thank you to everyone who took the time to share their thoughts with us in our recent communication survey; we had over 280 responses, and the comments were very encouraging to read! We wanted to share with you what we learned, and also answer some of the questions you asked about The Freedom Theatre.

COMMUNICATION
Over 70% of the respondents found The Freedom Theatre’s communication to be ‘relevant and interesting’ and 67% ‘frequent enough’. Only 0.70% found the information ‘not interesting or relevant’. Of the 48% who had donated to The Freedom Theatre in the past, 64% believed that we have demonstrated “‘very well’ or ‘moderately well’ the difference the donation had made to the people we serve.
FUNDING
In comments, several respondents asked to know more about our funding sources. The Freedom Theatre is a non-profit organisation and grants for culture in Palestine are limited. As much as we can we try to lessen the dependency on foreign aid through income-generating initiatives, and in the next year we will explore a number of new such avenues. But the reality is that the financial situation is challenging, for us and for our colleagues in the cultural sector in Palestine.

Ultimately it is people like you, who believe in our cause, who can really make a difference. Did you know that if 1000 people around the world donated 20 USD/EUR a month to The Freedom Theatre, that would cover our entire running costs? Find out more.

Thank you again for taking the time to share your thoughts with us!

P.S. Some who answered the survey had specific questions to us, that unfortunately we can’t answer as the survey is anonymous. Do email us and we’ll get right back to you!
