by mustafas27 September 2020 | The Freedom Theatre (TFT) is pleased to invite audiences worldwide to “The Island in Palestine”, an online event presented in cooperation with Globala Torget.
This special digital gathering offers an introduction to TFT as one of the most courageous cultural institutions in northern Palestine, a theatre that continues to create, train, and perform despite the daily realities of military occupation.
Featuring: Ahmed Tobasi
The event includes a conversation and presentation with Ahmed Tobasi, Artistic Director of The Freedom Theatre, sharing TFT’s artistic vision, its community-rooted work in Jenin Refugee Camp, and the role of theatre as a form of cultural resistance and collective survival.
Screening: Excerpt from The Island (Arabic / English subtitles)
The evening concludes with an exclusive 10-minute excerpt from TFT’s acclaimed production of Athol Fugard’s The Island, performed in Arabic with English subtitles.
