by mustafas26 July 2020 | The Freedom Theatre (TFT) is proud to announce the continuation of preparations for The Revolution’s Promise, a global artistic collaboration that amplifies Palestinian voices through theatre, testimony, and collective imagination.
Developed through an international partnership, the project brings together Palestinian artists, musicians, photographers, caricaturists, poets, actors, visual artists, and cultural activists to share personal stories of cultural and artistic resistance in the face of Israeli occupation. These encounters form the foundation of a powerful new script, built from lived experience and shaped by the urgency of the present.
A script for the world
At the heart of The Revolution’s Promise is the creation of an open, accessible theatrical script:
a collection of real stories told by Palestinian artists working on the frontline of cultural resistance.
The script will be made available free of charge to theatres, artists, institutions, universities, community groups and solidarity networks worldwide, inviting audiences everywhere to stage readings, performances, and creative responses.
This initiative is an invitation to the world to stand alongside Palestinian artists in their struggle for:
- justice
- equality
- freedom
- self-determination

A global moment of remembrance and uprising
The worldwide launch was planned for 4 April 2021, marking ten years since the assassination of Juliano Mer-Khamis, co-founder and Artistic Director of The Freedom Theatre.
Juliano’s legacy continues to guide TFT’s belief that theatre is not entertainment alone, but a political and artistic act, a practice of freedom, dignity, and collective resistance.

Update (2025)
Since the original announcement, the project has continued to grow internationally. An updated Memorandum of Understanding was signed on 27 June 2025, confirming that The Revolution’s Promise is produced by Artists On The Frontline CIC in collaboration with The Freedom Theatre (TFT).
