In mid-July “The Serious and Ludicrous Escapade of the Cyclist” theatre group from France arrived in Jenin to work with children and youth at The Freedom Theatre.

During acting workshops the group gathered impressions for a unique adaptation of their play “While Walking I Saw…”, performed together with two Palestinian actors at the theatre on July 31.

The play consisted of a series of sketches, reflecting the situation in the Palestinian Territories, under Israeli occupation. Comparisons were also made with the history and relations between France and Algeria.

The play was directed by Mohamed Guellati, a French director of Algerian origin, and performed in Arabic, French and English.
