On Tuesday 22 December 2009 at 12.30 The Freedom Theatre is organising an Arts Festival in Jenin Camp, presenting the results of its work during the past year. The programme includes photography, film and theatre… The festival is supported by UNFPA.
Photography Exhibition
The photography exhibition is a summary of the photography workshops carried out for children and youth in 2009. The photographs deal with women’s issues, children’s rights and the struggle against oppression.
Film Screenings
The Freedom Theatre will screen four short films made by youth and filmmaking trainers.
1. Small Father

The film tells the story of Shadi who, instead of playing with his friends, is helping his father to support the family during his summer vacation.
2. Honour

The film tells the story of three women who were subjected to violence after being accused of dishonouring their families.
3. Majd

The film tells the story of Majd who lost a brother during the Intifada. Majd decides to become an actor in order to continue the struggle of her brother against the occupation, but she discovers that the way to the stage has many obstacles.
4. Road to Ajja

The film tells the story of three young women studying filmmaking at The Freedom Theatre, facing strong opposition in the society to their choices in life.

The Freedom Theatre Acting School students stage a summary of their recent work, presenting the strange and unusual characters of buffoons.
