The Israeli Supreme Court recently upheld a ruling allowing Israel to prevent Palestinians from the West Bank and Gaza, who marry Israelis, to reside with their spouses in Israel. This law further permits the deportation of Palestinians who are currently living with their families in Israel.

Taiseer Khatib, teacher of Creative Writing at The Freedom Theatre, his wife Lana and their two children Yusra and Adnan live in Akka inside Israel. They are among the thousands of families that now face a real threat of having to live apart, since Lana is originally from Jenin, in occupied Palestine.
The Freedom Theatre calls on its friends and supporters around the world to protest against the so-called citizen law and other laws that are designed to segregate and discriminate against the Palestinians.
Please contact Taiseer Khatib to find out what you can do. Through supporting Taiseer and his family, you will contribute to defending human rights in Israel and Palestine.

“Remember the solidarity shown to Palestine here and everywhere… and remember also that there is a cause to which many people have committed themselves, difficulties and terrible obstacles notwithstanding. Why? Because it is a just cause, a notable ideal, a moral quest for equality and human rights.” Edward Said
