PLAYBACK THEATRE
Audience members share autobiographical accounts and watch as a team of actors and musicians instantly transform these accounts into improvised theatre pieces. Playback Theatre provides opportunity for advocacy, community building and trauma response.
THE FREEDOM BUS
The Freedom Bus is a grassroots initiative of The Freedom Theatre. We are a group of artists and activists dedicated to community building, cultural resistance and the long-term accompaniment of villages, refugee camps and Bedouin communities throughout the West Bank. Our multi-day Freedom Rides and Solidarity Stays typically include protective presence activity, volunteer work, guided walks, interactive workshops, educational talks, home-stays and cultural events. Through the use of Playback Theatre, we also create opportunities for community members to share personal stories about the realities of life and struggle under settler colonialism, military occupation and state-sanctioned apartheid.
