April 4th: a day with profound meaning for The Freedom Theatre. It is the anniversary of the Jenin Massacre, the large-scale invasion of Jenin Refugee Camp in 2002 by the Israeli army, which demolished the central parts of the camp, killed many and traumatized many more. It is the third anniversary of the murder of Juliano Mer Khamis, our co-founder and general director, who was assassinated by an unknown enemy of art, freedom and cultural resistance. And as of today, April 4th will be the graduation day of the last group of Juliano’s students, our brilliant third-year Theatre School students. Join us as we remember, grieve, pay tribute and honour. As Juliano would say: The Revolution must go on!
