All the students at The Freedom Theatre School were present, along with their teachers and the theatre’s employees; from the financial director to the housekeeper. Because of the structure of work in The Freedom Theatre, more or less all staff members have a role to play in the theatre’s productions.

The Meet & Greet was also a good opportunity for the new students to better get to know the employees at the theatre and vice versa.

Micaela Miranda, director of the Theatre School, introduced the upcoming presentation by saying that it is inspired by the legendary Greek myth about Medusa, intertwined with the students’ personal stories. Micaela Miranda is directing the play together with Nabil Al-Raee, artistic director at The Freedom Theatre.

Staff members and students then took turns introducing themselves and their role in the presentation as well as their general responsibilities in the theatre. Many students shared personal accounts and expressed hopes that the upcoming presentation will be successful. One student said: “I feel like I lived in exile before I came to the school. The Theatre School has made me challenge my fears and interact with people. When I came here, I found myself and got to know myself better.”
