The Siege, The Freedom Theatre’s acclaimed artistic reflection on the 2002 siege on the Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem, will once again be presented at the theatre in Jenin refugee camp before embarking on a string of performances at The Skirball Center in New York.

The Siege is set in Bethlehem at the height of the second Intifada. While the dramatic scenes of the Israeli army’s siege made headlines worldwide, the fighters, clergy and civilians trapped inside the church were not heard. With The Siege, The Freedom Theatre tells the story from the perspective of some of the people who lived through those fateful 39 days. Read more about the play.
