In July, The Freedom Theatre once again organised its annual summer camp for kids. Over the course of 3 weeks, ninety-five children aged 6 to 12 came together at the theatre and engaged in fun and creative activities during their school holidays. Theatre staff and local volunteers offered theatre and trust games, dance, music classes, drawing and handicraft sessions and many more activities, while there were also guest workshops and shows from performers external to the theatre, such as the workshops run by members of the Palestinian Circus School from Birzeit, a mask workshop run by Hassan Taha, and the screening of Al Bourj, an animated film about the lives of Palestinians living in Lebanon. Highlight for many was the visit to the local swimming pool, welcomed by trainers and kids to cool down from the Palestinian summer heat.
In addition, with its Child and Youth programme, TFT participated in the UNRWA Summer Camps “My Right is my Strength”. Over the summer, the Freedom Theatre collaborated with UNRWA to bring theatre workshops to children’s summer camps in the northern West Bank. The theatre’s professional actors also engaged the youths in discussions and drama activities  relating to the impact of social media on their lives.
