The students of The Freedom Theatre’s acting school embarked on an experimental Freedom Bus tour in October 2019. Led by The Freedom Theatre’s graduate and resident artist Faisal Abu Alhayjaa, the group visited several of the most oppressed areas in the West Bank including amongst others the Jordan Valley and Hebron. During the 4-day tour, the students gathered stories and used their experiences from the ride to create short theatrical presentations based on using techniques of playback theatre. It was an enriching, emotional and beautiful experience for our students who will develop these skills over the coming months in preparation for the 10-day Freedom Ride in April 2020.
