Sudhanva Deshpande from our partner Jana Natya Manch, one of India’s premier street theatre groups, is at The Freedom Theatre holding a workshop with our Theatre School students. Together they have prepared a short street theatre play that will be presented as part of the memorial on April 4th. Sudhanva also participated in our recent Freedom Ride in occupied Palestine.
Jana Natya Manch, or Janam for short, has done over 8,500 performances of around 75 street plays and 15 proscenium plays in about 140 cities in India. We are happy and proud to be collaborating closely with Jana Natya Manch and look forward to our next visit to India later this year!
