We are very happy to announce that three of our five Freedom Films have been accepted to international film festivals. This autumn, The Racer and Maybe will be screened at the Malmö Arab Film Festival in Sweden, while Journey of a Freedom Fighter will be screened at the 2014 Poitiers Film Festival, France, the Raindance Film Festival in the UK, the Boston Palestine Film Festival, the St. Louis International Film Festival and the Arab Film Festival, USA. In the latter, the film is also entered into competition for the 2014 Arab Film Awards for “Best Documentary Short”.
The Freedom Film campaign in 2013 was one of The Freedom Theatre’s first ventures into the world of crowd-funding. The support we got more than surpassed our expectations and enabled our young aspiring filmmakers to produce five different films, fiction and documentary, with the common aim of recording the humanity and the truth of the Palestinian situation.
