While Waiting

Performed by the Graduate Students of The Freedom Theatre

Directed by Udi Aloni

Waiting for Godot is one of the most important and challenging works of modernism. When two despairing clowns, who believe even death by suicide is not sufficient, meet an odd master-slave couple in a nowhere place, a miracle happens, and a genuine friendship is born.

The Palestinian production While Waiting focuses on the search for meaning, solidarity and friendship in spite or because of the life under occupation.

The making of While Waiting reflects the situation for students of The Freedom Theatre after the recent murder of their teacher and friend Juliano Mer Khamis. The performance is an act of fidelity and healing after a meaningless and tragic loss.
