The Freedom Theatre is looking for a Grants and Development Manager.
Job Description
The Grants and Development Manager prepares proposals and reports for Foundation and Government donors. This position is responsible for supporting The Freedom Theatre in achieving its institutional fundraising goals with a focus on grant writing. The Grants and Development Manager will work closely with the Finance Department, Communications Officer, and Managing Director. The Grants & Development Manager will be responsible for the Development Department, which at times may include volunteers.

Donor Relations
- Support the Managing Director and other Development staff in building relationships with prospective donors
- Write grant applications in collaboration with the Programme Teams
- Maintain accurate and up to date records in the donor database
- Manage the schedule and production of donor reporting
- Manage ‘thank you’ letters and other donor acknowledgements
Development Marketing
- Run direct mail campaigns each year (number to be determined); write appeal letters, pull donor list from database and coordinate mailings. Run additional campaigns based on GlobalGiving calendar
- Work closely with communications team on online campaigns, annual report, and other donor communication materials
Finance and Reporting
- Create development projections, to facilitate growth year from year
- Generate regular reporting
General
- Contribute ideas to planning and strategy sessions with management
- Attendance at morning meetings and staff meetings when necessary
- Work closely with Programme Teams to stay up to date and informed on all projects
- Work with relevant staff and Finance Team to ensure accurate tracking of income and maintain an awareness of expenses
Qualifications
- Outstanding writing and proofreading skills
- Ability to prepare budget information for proposals and reports
- Outstanding interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
- Working knowledge of Salesforce or other donor database/platform or a desire to learn
- Ability to work well with people of diverse backgrounds
- Available to work a flexible schedule as needed. This position is full-time requiring timely attendance
- Consistent attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to stay organized and meet deadlines
- Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s preferred
- Previous grant writing experience required (minimum 3 years’ experience although preference will be given to candidates with at least 5 years successful grant writing experience)
- This position requires an excellent command of both Arabic and English
- Background in, or knowledge of, theatre arts preferred but not required
- This position is open to Palestinian nationals or other person with the legal right to live and work in the West Bank (applicant who will need to do a visa run every three months will not be considered)
